Public bug reported:
When starting my computer I get to the ubuntu splash screen, then to a light
brown screen and then it becomes a hint darker and locks up. I can't get to
TTY1-6 but it's possible to do a Ctrl-Alt-Bkspace though it won't get me to the
login screen. It just tries to shutdown but hangs up, forcing me to do a reset.
After that it boots into the desktop just fine!
It's a Core2Duo on an ASUS P5B Deluxe and the network adapter I'm using is a
Marvell 88E8001 Gigabit controller.
uname -a says:
Linux jlindbergh-desktop 2.6.24-19-generic #1 SMP Fri Jul 11 23:41:49 UTC 2008
i686 GNU/Linux
Attached is two message logs. One is the result from when it locks up, the
other is from when Ubuntu starts successfully (when hitting reset)
[edit] I'll try to upload another attachment after posting the first. (can only
get one attachment upload box)
I also noticed that it does not always start successfully even if I hit
reset. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries..
