This bug is not about switching the desktop environment (Gnome/KDE), as the user can do this themselves. It is about the window manager (metacity/kwin/compiz) used in each environment.
I'm saying that I think installing kubuntu-desktop should not cause a switch to kwin for Gnome. If ubuntu-desktop and kubuntu-desktop are both installed, then the user has two desktop environments. This bug is about the switching of the WM in one environment being a shared change in the other environment. I initially reported the bug as kwin was automatically applied to Gnome (unexpected) as well as KDE (expected) after installing kubuntu-desktop. Any user that installs kubuntu-desktop that continues to use Gnome will experience this issue. -- KDE window decoration applied in gnome https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/253676 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
