hi, this is NOT a duplicate bug report, the guy on the other bug report is stuck at swap file partitioning during installation. i am a step forward complaining about the impossiblity to install ubuntu on a compressed ntfs windows partition
since i discovered what caused the swap file installation problem, i would like to share it here: when installing the ubuntu through windows i leave the ntfs drive compressed but i create in advance a folder called ubuntu (which will automatically be compressed) and then i check this ubuntu folder properties where i select the option to make this folder and its subfolders uncompressed and finally i run the installation and the swap file partitioning works fine.... it works fine ...but it remains uncompressed with all the other ubuntu files in the compressed windows ntfs partition and this bug report is only a complaining about the impossibility to install a "compressed" ubuntu because it wastes me (expensive) disk space on my Solid State Drive regards -- BETA 8.04 install error from (windows) NTFS compressed drive https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/219946 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
