Me too. My eeepc 701 4G used to have a perfectly working ethernet port with the original Xandros. Later on, I upgraded the bios to version 0901, and I started running Kubuntu 8.04 from a flash usb drive. I am not sure which of these two affected the ethernet connection, but it no longer works in Xandros, and it doesn't work in Kubuntu, either.
The network manager is not pulling a DHCP lease, as noted above, but no error message is shown. Atl2 is loaded, according to lsmod, and the ethernet card is listed as eth2 in KNetworkManager Removing the battery and power helped me get Kubuntu see the card (there were times when it wouldn't even show in the network manager). I am not sure what's the best way to debug this. Any ideas, welcome.
