The KDE4 version works quite well under KDE3. It's miles ahead of Dolphin 0.9.2.
Even the 6 month old Dolphin 1.0.3 is much more stable and bug-free. (Dolphin
1.1 available from the KDE4 members PPA is even more stable and has several
very nice new features and optimizations) As with any KDE4 application, you can
install and use it in you KDE3 environment without having to installing a
complete KDE4 environment. I would suggest that all users of Dolphin 0.9.2 to
upgrade to a KDE4 version.
The Kubuntu fork/branch of Dolphin 0.9.x is unmaintained, and is unlikely to
receive any more work.
