Thanks for the report, does changing the device at the same preferences
fixes the issue? not a gnome-system-monitor bug it has nothing to do
with sound.

When the sound Preferences is opened & under the audio conferencing if the test
is clicked then the whole application hangs saying faied to construct test
pipeline for gconfaudiosrc !, audioconverter ! , audiosample ! , gconfaudiosink
