Public bug reported:

The chips RV770 of ATI used on the HD4800 series are not supported by Ubuntu.
In fact, the catalist driver has no support for them as this writting
(14/08/2008) but at least radeonhd or radeon should be able to detect them and
use basic features (as of 3 or 4 days ago both drivers are using AtomBios which
abstract ATI hardware )
The PCI IDs should be added and newest version as possible of those two
opensource drivers should be used for 8.10

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
