Public bug reported: Description: Ubuntu 8.04.1 Release: 8.04
This bug appears in the standard Volume Control applet. When using the keyboard mute/unmute button, the Microphone playback mute status is controlled along with the Master and PCM mute status. This means that if the Microphone has been independently muted, it will be unmuted if the keyboard mute/unmute button is used to mute then unmute the Master and PCM. The Microphone playback was muted so the sound of typing would not play through my headphones. I needed to speak with someone, so I pressed the mute button on my keyboard. This muted the Master and PCM playback, as was expected. When I finished my conversation I pressed the same button to unmute Master and PCM playback. Microphone playback was automatically unmuted. I expected the Microphone to remain muted. I had expected the mute/unmute button would only change the mute status of the Master playback. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Pressing mute button on Thinkpad R61 causes microphone to mute/unmute https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/257985 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
