Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue
for you? Care to test the most recent Hardy Heron 8.04 release -

results.
Once updated to Hardy, you will also likely want to try installing the
linux-backports-modules package which contains updated version of the
rtl* drivers. Thanks.
