To reproduce:
1) Shoot a raw image with a canon digital (XSi in my case).
2) Upload to your computer
3) Try to open the image with gimp
4) Watch the following errors:
TIFF image: ~/Desktop/2008-08-14--21.39.59/IMG_0037.CR2: unknown field
with tag 513 (0x201) encountered
TIFF image: ~/Desktop/2008-08-14--21.39.59/IMG_0037.CR2: invalid TIFF
directory; tags are not sorted in ascending order
TIFF image: ~/Desktop/2008-08-14--21.39.59/IMG_0037.CR2: unknown field
with tag 514 (0x202) encountered
TIFF image: ~/Desktop/2008-08-14--21.39.59/IMG_0037.CR2: TIFF directory
is missing required "ImageLength" field
TIFF image: Could not get image width from '~/Desktop/2008-08-14--
21.39.59/IMG_0037.CR2'
GIMP: Opening '~/Desktop/2008-08-14--21.39.59/IMG_0037.CR2' failed: TIFF
image plug-In could not open image
Gimp should open the file and allow editing.
