Hmmm.... OK. Have managed to get 2.6.24-14 working again (except it's showing as Hardy) have uninstalled 2.6.24-19 (as far as I am able to determine (everything is showing as uninstalled in Synaptic) but now, when I try to upgrade to 2.6.24-19 again, it tells me there is no upgrade available.
I seem to be going round in circles here. On the one hand, I would appear to have removed all references to the Hardy kernel - yet it still thinks it is the hardy kernel!?!
