That 'fix' actually made things less usable. If I was running Flash, Rhythmbox would finish what it was playing then stall when starting the next song. The only solution was to close everything that was using sounds (Firefox, Pidgin, Rhythmbox) and start it all up again.
Whatever what 'fix' did must've made Flash queue for use of the sound card, but Flash still wasn't releasing the card afterward.
