Public bug reported:
After a clean Ubuntu installation (ubuntu 8.04 hardy, kernel 2.6.24-19), and
running the update manager by invoking "update-manager -d", the system can be
updated to ubuntu version 8.10. When this update is invoked, the updater starts
downloading. However, when the update screen looses the mouse focus or the
mouse is not moving for a little while (about 1-5 minutes), the execution of
the update seems to pause. Moving the mouse again will continue the update.
There seem to be other users who experienced the same problem: see last 2 posts
of this forumthread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=5490611
