Hi,
quick question: if you click on buddies at the top left corner of pidgin and
move your mouse over to "show", you will see a new drop down menu and you
should see "Offline Buddies" there. If it is selected and you still dont see a
list, thats a problem. But if you see the list then, i can think of 2
possibilities. (a) all your friends are offline or invisible ;( (b) its a bug.
can you confirm that first? we can deal with your chess issue later on, but
seeing your contacts list is a basic feature and should be working as it is for
me.
