Public bug reported:

Every time I start Ubuntu I have to choose Wired Network manually (which
is already selected) from menu of Network-Manager in Notification Area
to connect to the network. I'm using ethernet connection with DHCP to
connect, so after doing this I am connected in few seconds.

What happens:
* network interface is available but does not have ip address assigned.
* network manager status icon shows that connection is established (two
monitors, no orange warning triangle)
* in the menu of network-manager, Wired Network radio button is enabled

What should happen:
* network connection is available (ip address assigned) after system startup if
ethernet network with dhcp is available
* network manager shows correct connection status if there is no ip address
assigned to ethernet interface

This is reproducible on fresh user account. I'm using fully updated Ubuntu
8.04. I didn't have this problem on Ubuntu 7.10.
I'm not sure but this problem may have appeared after switching my router from
Linksys to Asus WL-600G.

My hardware is Lenovo T60 with ethernet card:
Intel Corporation 82573L Gigabit Ethernet Controller

** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
