My keyboard has the same problems. when I press the "( ? / )" nothing happens
everything else is fine now.
I'm using kubuntu so I don't know how the keyboard isconfigured under
"Gnome-Keyboard preferences". At system settings > regional e language >
keyboard layout, it says enable keyboard layouts. the command option is
"setxkbmap -model evdev -layout br -variant "

XLookupString gives 0 bytes:
XFilterEvent returns: False
