*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 224160 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/224160
As I found it as duplicate, I just add a last comment:
Duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/224160 as the same
core issue occurs:
fglrxinfo and others segfault when non root
(by installing fglrx package, it works well in root:
$ fglrxinfo
display: :0.0 screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600
OpenGL version string: 2.1.7412 Release
)
So, as described in #224160, the following operations have been made:
- comment from /etc/profile the call to /etc/ati/ati-fglrx.sh
- move xorg duplicate libraries :
$ cd /usr/lib/xorg/
$ mkdir tmp
$ mv libGL.so.1* tmp/
as
+ $ env | grep LD_LIBRARY_PATH return nothing in root
+ $ but return LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/xorg with the not working user
finally, I got the same reply with the normal user:
$ fglrxinfo
display: :0.0 screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600
OpenGL version string: 2.1.7412 Release
Thanks for you help
