Did you used a hyphen or an an equal sign? In the bug report you wrote acpi-off, but if you want to use it as parameter you have to use acpi=off. But probably it is an not an ACPI problem. The error message talked about APIC (Advanced Programmable Interrupt Controller) and not ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Management Interface).
