Hello again. I now have it working, having compiled the r8168 driver (v8.008) from source: http://122.146.118.42/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=13&PFid=5&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false
I also had to blacklist r8169 and do depmod & mkinitramfs to include the new driver. I did so using instructions on this page: http://www.jamesonwilliams.com/hardy-r8168.html I think this is a serious regression because it used to work in Hardy (8.04 and 8.04.1) for me with the generic kernel without any fiddling. sudo lswh output (2.6.26-5): *-network description: Ethernet interface product: RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet controller vendor: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. physical id: 0 bus info: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:02:00.0 logical name: eth0 version: 02 serial: 00:19:66:6e:a0:be size: 100MB/s capacity: 1GB/s width: 64 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: pm msi pciexpress msix vpd bus_master cap_list ethernet physical tp 10bt 10bt-fd 100bt 100bt-fd 1000bt-fd autonegotiation configuration: autonegotiation=on broadcast=yes driver=r8168 driverversion=8.008.00-NAPI duplex=full ip=80.221.39.136 latency=0 link=yes module=r8168 multicast=yes port=twisted pair speed=100MB/s -- RTL8111/8168B not working on 2.6.26 64-bit https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/259534 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
