This patch is not quite right (it looks like you've modified an
autogenerated file without modifying the script that generates it in
quite the correct ways) - but don't worry, I already had a correct patch
in hand when I wrote my earlier comment, which will go in the first
gfxboot-theme-ubuntu to Feisty.
The reason the keymap disappeared was that the entire console keymap
system was totally revamped in Edgy. I didn't intentionally throw out
Swiss French - it fell out by accident.
To boot with a Swiss French keymap, add "console-setup/layoutcode=ch
console-setup/variantcode=fr" to the kernel command line.
