I see this hasn't been resolved yet, and now innumerable people are
complaining about poor software raid support in Dapper -> Edgy upgrades.

Having personally suffered from it and gotten around it by reinstalling,
it's a shockingly poor way to release a distribution. Imagine the furore
if Microsoft released an XP that failed to boot with Raid1 partitions
made in 2k.
