Attached is a patch that adds a checkbox so you can choose if you want
to lock the screen.

As to the 'suspend on idle', if someone found me a way to detect
'idleness', I'm happy to implement it. I've had  a brief look in
kscreensaver, and it seems you have to dive deep into X internals to
find out how long the machine had been idle. :/
