My install crashed more frequently with 8.04 and when it crashed I could do nothing until I killed power on the computer and rebooted.
I have had one crash since updating FireFox in 7.10. Recovery in 7.10 is from Konsole or just opening a terminal window and killing any associated applications running with FireFox. There used to be a problem with flashplayer in FireFox, but I have not seen that problem for over a year.
