** Description changed: - Binary package hint: base-installer + Problem occurs with: Ubuntu 6.10, Ubuntu 7.10, Ubuntu Intrepid alpha 3, + Ubuntu Intrepid daily 2008-08-21 - Tried Edgy RC today, although IIRC that bug also showed in previous - milestone images. + 1. Start up from an Ubuntu live CD. + 2. Choose the "Check this CD for defects" option. + 3. Once the test has finished, try to install Ubuntu. - I ran the CD integrity check, to make sure the CD was not corrupt, - before proceeding with the actual installation. Problem : when the test - is finished, it shows a dialog saying that the test passed ok, and there - is a "Continue" button. I pressed that button, thinking/assuming it - would take me back to the main menu so I can start the installation, but - instead of doing that, it started the CD test again ! And it does it - over and over again, endlessly... I had to reset the computer in order - to go back to the menu... + What happens: Once the check finishes, it says "Press any key to reboot your system". + What should happen: Once you have acknowledged the passed test, Ubuntu should return to the main menu, which already has an option for restarting the computer if I really want to, which I probably don't. + + Fixing this would also fix bug 221926.
