Hi El Di Pablo,
Were you ever able to get this resolved? I noticed from your log files:
...
dpkg: error processing
/var/cache/apt/archives/checkinstall_1.6.1-5ubuntu1_i386.deb (--unpack):
corrupted filesystem tarfile - corrupted package archive
Errors were encountered while processing:
/var/cache/apt/archives/checkinstall_1.6.1-5ubuntu1_i386.deb
...
dpkg: error processing
/var/cache/apt/archives/linux-image-2.6.24-19-generic_2.6.24-19.34_i386.deb
(--unpack):
corrupted filesystem tarfile - corrupted package archive
...
Obviously it seems the .debs that were downloaded are bad. I'm curious
if you delete the corrupted .debs:
sudo rm /var/cache/apt/archives/checkinstall_1.6.1-5ubuntu1_i386.deb
sudo rm
/var/cache/apt/archives/linux-image-2.6.24-19-generic_2.6.24-19.34_i386.deb
And then re-try the upgrade if this will help resolve the issue. New
.debs (hopefully not corrupted) should be downloaded. Please let us
know your results. Thanks.
