Hi sefs,

Thank you for your response. There could be any number of reasons why a
fresh install is now working for you. . . . depending on when you
initially upgraded to Hardy from Feisty you likely pulled in a specific
version of the rt2x00 drivers. Then depending which iso image you used
to do a fresh install it could have been that newer drivers (which have
fixed this issue) were installed. Note that Hardy has since had an
8.04.1 point release which contains multiple bug fixes and could have
likely resolved the issue you were seeing. Additionally the linux-
backports-modules package has updated versions of the rt2x00 drivers.
Regardless, I'm glad to hear things are working for you now. I'm going
to tentatively mark this "Fix Released" against Hardy.

If you would like to test the upcoming Intrepid release via a LiveCD
it's completely up to you just to verify this is not likely to be an
issue with the upcoming release. I think that should be sufficient for
testing. Thanks.
