There was nothing in the stack trace. Could this because pidgin doesn't
actually segfault/crash? It goes into an infinite loop, I think, and can
only be kill'd or force-quitted by the window manager.
Here's another thing I discovered: if I "Paste as plain text", it works
fine. It is regular Paste that causes this behavior.
I have a theory: does the display widget that Pidgin uses for
entry/display attempt to fetch remote images? I know it will keep <a>,
<b>, and <i> tags in the pasted text if it was HTML. Perhaps that's the
problem, then: that Pidgin tries to render of some of the images or
block-level HTML in the pasted text and fails while doing so.
