Working from Hardy I have had problems with Power Management features
and noticed slight problems with extended GL graphics (screensavers and
SecondLife). I tried Intrepid alpha 4 and with an initial install
process changing no boot options and the screen began to flicker. I
restarted and started with safe graphics mode enabled and as the loading
completed my screen began to pulse with the charging of my battery. I
turned my system off and back on and my BIOS screen at this point was
doing the same thing. I unplugged the charger and battery, left it for
about 30 seconds and all was well.
My notebook is a Gateway M-6834.
