I've just installed edgy onto my desktop and ran into this bug. I launched openoffice from the command line and saw the following:
I18N: X Window System doesn't support locale "ru_RU.UTF-8" I18N: Operating system doesn't support locale "en_US" The output of "locale": LANG=\ru_RU.UTF-8\ LC_CTYPE="ru_RU.UTF-8" LC_NUMERIC="ru_RU.UTF-8" LC_TIME="ru_RU.UTF-8" LC_COLLATE="ru_RU.UTF-8" LC_MONETARY="ru_RU.UTF-8" LC_MESSAGES="ru_RU.UTF-8" LC_PAPER="ru_RU.UTF-8" LC_NAME="ru_RU.UTF-8" LC_ADDRESS="ru_RU.UTF-8" LC_TELEPHONE="ru_RU.UTF-8" LC_MEASUREMENT="ru_RU.UTF-8" LC_IDENTIFICATION="ru_RU.UTF-8" LC_ALL= KWord opened the same file successfully but among the output (again I launched it from the command line) I noticed this message: Qt: Locales not supported on X server The problem seems to be in X server. -- Openoffice can`t open files with cyrillic names https://launchpad.net/bugs/66522 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
