which kind of FTP are you downloading? SFTP or just plain ftp? is it a
public one? can you give us the address? thanks.

When download from FTP with Nautilus 2.22.3, transfer block in 'File
Operantions' and if click stop to transfer stop ico become grey and remain like
this....
