having quiet the same problem on hardy with 1280:ii openoffice.org-base-core 1:2.4.1-1ubuntu2 [and deps]
opening a smb shared file works [well... sometimes.], saving them often crashes with I/O error, and replacing existing file is NOT possible... only OOo has this problem.
