In the past, I had come to the conclusion that this was a hardware
issue, not a software one (since I was experiencing it in windows AND
linux). I apologize for not closing the bug sooner.
It was quite strange that it popped up with a distro upgrade.
Equally strange is that is has now gone away with a new monitor. I've
replaced my CRT with an LCD.
