Yes...still an issue.  Others have also had problems with wireless 
connections on 8.04.  I'm still booting from the older kernel generated 
last Feb 2008, but still installing updates along the way.  Seems 
strange that the old kernel still works with all the updates through 
August 2008.

If you want, I can install and test 8.10 next week and give it a try.  
I'd be happy to send you appropriate debugging information.  I may, in 
effect, be "burning my bridge" behind me by possibly not being able to 
go back to the old kernel, but I think it's worth the risk, and there's 
no use in keeping on with the old kernel.
