Public bug reported:
I am experiencing the applet crashing whenever I attempt to connect to
my school's wireless network (WPA Enterprise, PEAP auth). When I select
the network from the list, it brings up the dialog asking for
credentials, which I enter, it then brings up the confirmation dialog
asking whether I want to supply a certificate. I hit the ignore button
and the process dies. This is the console output:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ nm-applet --sm-disable
** (nm-applet:9843): WARNING **: Invalid connection: 'NMSetting8021x' /
'identity' invalid: 2
** (nm-applet:9843): WARNING **: <WARN>
applet_menu_item_activate_helper(): Invalid connection; asking for more
information.
[immediately after I press the ignore button]
** (nm-applet:9843): WARNING **: Invalid connection:
'NMSettingWirelessSecurity' / 'proto' invalid: 1
** (nm-applet:9843): WARNING **: <WARN> wireless_dialog_response_cb():
Couldn't create other network connection.
-----
I am running the latest packaged version of nm-applet on Intrepid
(0.7~~svn20080817t183748-0ubuntu1). (Note: It also crashes if I try to
add the connection manually instead of selecting the network, however
I'm not convinced that these are actually the same bug as the symptoms
are a bit different.) I can not duplicate either of these issues on
Hardy - there I can connect to the network beautifully.
