Thanks for your E-mail, I am new to Linux/Ubuntu have searched
for 'your profile' on Launchpad but can't find the alsa-info.sh script!
referred too. Could you give further pointer to it please.
I updated to 2.6.24.19-386 various kernel images yesterday - 5 files.
More things tried - (from Sound Troubleshooter). Sounds now all OK from
Ubuntustudio 8.04.1 on booting up - but can easily get lost again!
Have definately tied my 'loss of all sound' to alsamixer settings being
reset by something? - Aux channel had got itself 'muted' and other settings
unticked! Un-muteing corrects sound problem until the next time machine
goes into hibernation - on recovery all sound has gone again, gets rather
tedious resetting alsamixer:-(
I hope this foregoing helps a little to narrow things down.
