Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: compiz
After pimping up my desktop with the New Wave theme, I though I might go
for a more OS X style desktop, and I decided to move the top panel down,
and delete the remaining one. This was not ok for Compiz. There appears
to be some display errors in a black bar at the top of the screen (see
the 3 attached screenshots). At first this bar vanished when changing
the desktop background, but it reappeared shortly thereafter.
Apps can maximize to this area, and I can place apps in the area, but
moving them around leaves trails in this black bar that does not go away
until you switch to another virtual desktop with Ctrl-Alt-Del. Right
clicking does also not work in this black bar at the top.
I found at that by disabling desktop effects (effectively disabling
Compiz Fusion, as far as I know), the black bar vanishes and everything
looks OK.
** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
