Public bug reported:
Hello,
this is a Toshiba 2410-404 laptop running (k)Ubuntu 8.04.1 if all
packages updated. While some acpi keys do work, some don't

The browser/www acpi button has no effect:
$ tail -f /var/log/acpid
[Thu Aug 28 13:29:02 2008] received event "hkey VALD 00000001 00000b06"
[Thu Aug 28 13:29:02 2008] notifying client 5126[0:0]
[Thu Aug 28 13:29:02 2008] notifying client 5562[109:119]
[Thu Aug 28 13:29:02 2008] executing action "/etc/acpi/webbtn.sh"
[Thu Aug 28 13:29:02 2008] BEGIN HANDLER MESSAGES
[Thu Aug 28 13:29:03 2008] END HANDLER MESSAGES
[Thu Aug 28 13:29:03 2008] action exited with status 0
[Thu Aug 28 13:29:03 2008] completed event "hkey VALD 00000001 00000b06"
Even though it seems to be recognized and /etc/acpi/webbtn.sh is executed the
hal layer sees nothing at all and lshal -m reports nothing. Neither does
dbus-monitor --system report anything.
$ lshal -m
Start monitoring devicelist:

The CD/DVD play button has no effect at all, i think this should start playing
the current cd/dvd, either audio or video

The digital audio play button has no effect at all, i think it should start
playing some mp3/ogg from harddisk, whatever is in the current playlist.
$ tail -f /var/log/acpid
[Thu Aug 28 13:36:27 2008] received event "hkey VALD 00000000 00000b27"
[Thu Aug 28 13:36:27 2008] notifying client 5126[0:0]
[Thu Aug 28 13:36:27 2008] notifying client 5562[109:119]
[Thu Aug 28 13:36:27 2008] completed event "hkey VALD 00000000 00000b27"
I think these acpi events are reported to the hal layer through
hald-addon-acpi, but i have no idea on how to configure the hal layer.
The acpi buttons that do work on this toshiba 2410-404 are: email,
musik-forward, musik-backward, musik-play-pause, musik-stop
Thanks for your help
