The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel. There are one of two ways you should be able to test:
1) If you are comfortable installing packages on your own, the linux- image-2.6.27-* package is currently available for you to install and test. --or-- 2) The upcoming Alpha5 for Intrepid Ibex 8.10 will contain this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel. Alpha5 is set to be released Thursday Sept 4. Please watch http://www.ubuntu.com/testing for Alpha5 to be announced. You should then be able to test via a LiveCD. Please let us know immediately if this newer 2.6.27 kernel resolves the bug reported here or if the issue remains. More importantly, please open a new bug report for each new bug/regression introduced by the 2.6.27 kernel and tag the bug report with 'linux-2.6.27'. Also, please specifically note if the issue does or does not appear in the 2.6.26 kernel. Thanks again, we really appreicate your help and feedback. ** Description changed: Hi, i have a AMD Semprom 3000 with motherboard k8ns with nforce3 chisep he have full description of all my hardware [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ lspci -n 0000:00:00.0 0600: 10de:00e1 (rev a1) 0000:00:01.0 0601: 10de:00e0 (rev a2) 0000:00:01.1 0c05: 10de:00e4 (rev a1) 0000:00:02.0 0c03: 10de:00e7 (rev a1) 0000:00:02.1 0c03: 10de:00e7 (rev a1) 0000:00:02.2 0c03: 10de:00e8 (rev a2) 0000:00:05.0 0680: 10de:00df (rev a2) 0000:00:06.0 0401: 10de:00ea (rev a1) 0000:00:08.0 0101: 10de:00e5 (rev a2) 0000:00:0a.0 0101: 10de:00e3 (rev a2) 0000:00:0b.0 0604: 10de:00e2 (rev a2) 0000:00:0e.0 0604: 10de:00ed (rev a2) 0000:00:18.0 0600: 1022:1100 0000:00:18.1 0600: 1022:1101 0000:00:18.2 0600: 1022:1102 0000:00:18.3 0600: 1022:1103 0000:01:00.0 0300: 10de:0221 (rev a1) For see the full description go to web http://kmuto.jp/debian/hcl/ And paste the info of lspci -n Well only the ubuntu Dapper 64 (live or install) runs with the kernel option acpi=off And only runs with kernels kernel 2.6.15-19-amd64-generic or less With 2.6.15-20-amd64-generic or bigger ever crash, with or without acpi=off And i use the driver "nv" The knoppix32 never crash, i can't understand this bug.
