Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6-amd64-generic
This is a Sun Ultra20 (dual-core AMD opteron) machine, on which I installed
Dapper on August 2, kernel
vmlinuz-2.6.15-23-amd64-generic
It had been up from then until October 28, no reboots, no shutdowns (unclean or
otherwise). Then I ran update-manager -c to upgrade to edgy. The upgrade
appeared to go through successfully, and it asked me to restart the computer.
On restarting, there seemed to be extensive problems in the /usr (ext3)
filesystem. The other filesystems, including /home (xfs), seem fine. (These
are the two largest filesystems, over 100 GB each.)
So far I haven't noticed any problems after the manual fsck of /usr.
