Yep, that's a known problem. We once tried to port Gobby to Avahi which failed because we did use Zeroconf in a, in their view, wrong way.
This warning does no harm and is more a "beg the developers to port it" message. You could disable it by setting "AVAHI_COMPAT_NOWARN" to 1 in your environment. Without the HOWL compatibility layer there wouldn't be any Zeroconf support at all in Ubuntu. ** Bug watch added: Net6 and *obby bugtracker #116 http://darcs.0x539.de/trac/obby/cgi-bin/trac.cgi/ticket/116 ** Also affects: obby (upstream) via http://darcs.0x539.de/trac/obby/cgi-bin/trac.cgi/ticket/116 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown -- Avahi warning when launching gobby https://launchpad.net/bugs/69457 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
