Hello.

I downloaded and installed this:
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/pub/next/2.6.27-rc3/hardy/linux-image-2.6.27-1-generic_2.6.27-1.1_amd64.deb

It did (on occasion) get past the "loading manual drivers" message
during boot, but it would make the system hang after the GDM greeter is
supposed to be finished.

I was able to drop out to a tty console (to check top - which was fine),
and caught a console message from the ksoftirqd stating that "soft
lockup - CPU#1 locked for 61 ms!".

Unfortunately, this laptop if my work laptop - so I'm not able to
perform too much testing.

I'll try again after Alpha5 via the live CD.
