Public bug reported: Skype 2.0.0.72, Ubuntu 8.04 always updated, Logitech webcam.
When I start voice conversation with a partner who doesn't have webcam, and I try to send my video, the system freezes totally. Only the cursor moves when I move the mouse and our voice conversation is just fine. But the windows and the keyboard are not responding, Ctrl-Alt-Backspace doesn't work. The only thing is the Microsoft-solution: reset the computer. I don't like Skype as it's not open that's why I'm planning to use Ekiga. (Or is there a better service?) But I think, even if it's not an open source application, shouldnt freeze a system. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Skype freezes system when starting video https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/262561 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
