Experimental testing to determine whether this problem still exists puts my entire machine at risk. Other aspects of this problem makes "try it against the new kernel or we'll close the bug as unresponsive" (I know nobody said that, but given past experience that's what I expect to happen) an inappropriate response, IMO:
* There's no code in the current kernel to handle this issue * I /think/ this sort of problem doesn't even need to be handled by the kernel -- it could be handled by userspace tools * It should be possible to find out whether anything has been done to address the issue If you told me changes were implemented that should fix the issue, I'd by delighted to risk testing them, but without any reason to think it's been addressed, I'm very reluctant to do so. -- insufficient temperature control https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/105613 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
