Hi all, I can confirm this was present in Intrepid with the 2.6.27-2 Kernel. I could detect networks with iwlist wlan0 scan, and it appeared to be connected to the selected AP, but I couldnt DHCP or do anything useful with the wireless interface.
I wasn't going to debug this for the sake of it, so I downloaded the latest 3945 driver from http://intellinuxwireless.org/. Actually the iwlwifi-3945-1.ucode driver that comes out of the archive shares the same file name as the vanilla one in /lib/firmware. I put the vanilla driver in /lib/firmware elseware, and put the newly downloaded one in /lib/firmware, and everything magically started working after a reboot. The errors I was getting with the vanilla driver were: iwl3945: Error sending REPLY_LEDS_CMD: iwl3945_enqueue_hcmd failed: -28 iwl3945: No space for Tx No errors with the driver from intellinuxwireless.org. I'm not sure what the difference is between the 2 drivers, Leann I think you are in a better position than I to answer that :) Dave -- iwl3945 disabling issue via software https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/248321 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
