Since you are not using Ubuntu anymore and nobody else has confirmed
this issue, I will close this bug report. If you decide to try Ubuntu
again (and just happen to get ahold of that laptop model) only to find
that this problem still exists, can you please include the information
requested from the "Reporting Sound Bugs" section of
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingSoundProblems as separate attachments.
You can re-open the bug by setting the status back to New at that time.
