Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kpdf
For the PDF at http://www.whbmac.com/chi/bonuspoint/redemption_form.pdf which contains Chinese, kpdf will fail to display most of the Chinese text, while kghostview will work fine. Note that kpdf does work on some other PDF files containing Chinese, e.g., http://www.whbmac.com/chi/download/card/replacement_reissue_changedata.pdf. Both PDF files have a Chinese font embedded. I am using Kubuntu 8.04. The kpdf version is 4:3.5.9-0ubuntu1.
