Hi, I looked further tonight, the code works as it should, it just something different to what I expected.
It requests that gdm restart when the user logs out, and then leaves the session open after doing this. Simply using GDM in the current state isn't really an option then, as this is pretty confusing. It could be changed to close the session after communicating with gdm say, but this isn't a viable long term solution, as there is no access control on these requests done by gdm, so anyone is able to shut down the machine, which isn't what we want.
