This bug happened after I left my router off without realizing and so I
was trying to get the network working and the computer became frozen. I
then noticed the router turned it on and restarted the computer, which
resulted in the starting grub but then no usplash to follow just a blank
black screen with no sounds if I typed in my login. The computer would
only stay on this black screen.
- UPDATE: Fixable by restoring grub from live cd following instructions
