Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: adept
The relationship among /etc/apt/sources.list, /etc/apt/source.list.d/*,
and the Third-Party Software section of Manage Repositories seems to be
undocumented, so I'm not entirely sure what the behavior should be. I
expected that there would be some kind of synchronization between Third-
Party Software and sources.list, or sources.list.d/*. Adding an item to
Third-Party Software adds it to sources.list, it seems. But almost all
the items in sources.list are missing from Third-Party Software, and I
haven't found a way to cause the sources.list items to appear there.
It does seem that the actual updating is governed by sources.list, not
the list in Third-Party Software.
Something is askew here, but since I haven't found the necessary
documentation, I don't know just what the behavior is supposed to be.
I'm running Kubuntu Hardy Heron 8.04.
