Hi, and thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
We must ask you to please file specific reports separately, however, because
several issues clumped together in 1 bug report are rather impossible to track.
:)

That being said, here are the statuses of the issues you numbered:
1. This would mean KNotify has crashed. The error message by itself, sadly, is
of little use to us unless a backtrace can be retrieved. Unfortunately, useful
backtraces generally cannot be made from LiveDVD environments. :(
2. This is a known issue that has been reported elsewhere.
3. If this is reproducable, please file a separate bug with more detail. Thank
you. :)
4. I think this one has been reported elsewhere too.
5. Really the most proper way to do this would be to install Kubuntu to the
harddrive. Kubuntu is not really meant to be run forever off of a livecd, since
customizations such as the ones you made require funky sudo tricks. ;-)

Slowness while running off of a livecd can't be helped either, since
Kubuntu must run off of RAM which is less plentiful than hard drive
space. For optimal speed you really have to install Kubuntu to your hard
drive.

Thanks once again for your feedback.
